Skip Carter

Vice President

Robert “Skip” Carter is a former Deputy Commissioner of the CHP. He previously served our country as a U.S. Marine. Skip is a former CHP Academy Commander and understands the unique challenges facing Academy commanders in terms of fulfilling mandatory training requirements within a very finite and limited number of training hours.

Skip recognizes how OGH‘s mission compliments Academy efforts to teach cadets about the importance of community relationships and he supports OGH’s efforts to diversify the registry and ensure successful outcomes for all patients.

Aly Krasny

Secretary

In 2011, Aly saved the life of a young mother diagnosed with AML, by serving as her hero bone marrow donor. Aly hosts marrow registration and fundraising events for the National Marrow Donor Program in hopes of saving more lives and is committed to “debunking” the myth held by some people that the donation process is somehow perceived to very painful…because it isn’t.

Aly is also a volunteer with the National Marrow Donor Program and is a scientist doing research on possible treatment options for AML.

Bob Kott

Treasurer

In 2006, Bob and Angela Kott received news no parent ever wants to hear. Specifically, that their precious, newborn son Trevor was diagnosed with AML (within hours of his birth). Despite an outpouring of support from people throughout the community and other parts of the country who joined the registry in hopes of matching Trevor and saving his life, a match donor was not found in time.

Sadly, Trevor passed away in April 2007, but Trevor’s legacy and story has gone onto save the lives of countless other patients. Trevor was also the inspiration for current VP Clayton Brewer getting involved in hosting drives and working with OGH. For many year, The Kott Family has been instrumental in hosting marrow drives that have helped Give Hope to thousands of other searching patients and their families.

Rich Lucero

Honorary Board Member

Richard Lucero is the former Chief of Police of Fremont Police Department. He is a graduate of Santa Clara University School of Law and a member of the California State Bar. He is a past president of the California Peace Officers’ Association. Rich is grateful for the opportunity to participate as a volunteer with Officers Give Hope and be part of such a meaningful initiative.
